Exquisite Corpses: An October Exchange Print Project

Did you ever play Exquisite corpse with friends when you were a kid? You fold a sheet of paper in thirds and each person draws one section of the body without knowing what the other sections look like. Well this gruesome and often hilarious, Frankenstein construction method makes a great print exchange process as well.
Join me in assembling Exquisite Corpse prints at a Halloween Printmaking get together on Sunday October 24, 2009. At an exact time and location to be determined.

To participate fill out the attached form and return it to Lisa Tayerle no later than September 1, 2009. 

Then print your image using these instructions:

Use any techniques- litho, etching, woodcut, monprint or type, mixed media etc to create a figurative image exactly 9 inches high x 3 inches wide. The standing figure may human, animal, mythical, fantastical being, realistic, expressive, cartoonish- whatever kind of figure you want. Examples: man, Popeye, wolf, octopus, angel, unicorn, Minotaur, zombie, etc

Print 3 bleed prints on any type of paper torn down to 9 inches high and 3 inches wide. NO Borders!

Once your prints are dry- CUT- DO not RIP-CUT the prints into thirds. The thirds will be 3 inches high x 3 inches wide. See diagram.

Your prints must be completed, dry and cut when you arrive at the get together on Sunday October 24. All other materials needed and instructions will be provided at the get together
