Maryland Printmaker member John C. Murray will answer printmaking questions and provide information about how fine arts prints are created at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn , 311 Kent Square Road in Gaithersburg (next to the Kentlands Mansion). The informal talk and demo will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2003 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. During the demonstration, John will have copper etching plates and the tools used to place the images upon them , to show the attendees. Techniques explained will include mezzotint, drypoint, acrylic photopolymer film, and low toxic etching. John will also have some of his miniature etchings for display and sale.
